JUNIOR Fall Field Hockey Program
The Junior Fall Field Hockey Program is an instructional field hockey league with a low level of competition and a strong focus on skill development with across the board participation. All ability levels are welcome. We also hire an outside organization to come in and teach skills and drills and incorporate this training into our regular practice nights.
Our Fall Field Hockey Program for Watchung Hills sending district, grades 5-8 runs from late August until mid November. We are members of the Mid NJ Youth Field Hockey league and play teams from: Basking Ridge, Branchburg, Chatham, Glen Ridge, Madison, Millburn, Readington, Scotch Plains, Summit, Hillsborough, Berkeley Heights, Verona, Westfield. (Note: The league is considering additional local teams as well.)
Teams will practice on Monday and Thursday evenings at Kantor Memorial Park (Gillette) on the turf field. Games will be held on Sunday afternoons. Regular Season Games will start 9/16 and run through 11/4. Grades 7/8 teams only will have play-offs on 11/18. (Schedule will be published once it is released.)
Practices will be held from 6pm – 8pm on Mondays and Thursdays. (Grades 5/6 and 7/8 will all practice at the same time.)
Us Sports Institute will also join the training to do skills and drills on Monday Nights from 6:30pm – 8pm. Players will spend the last ½ hour scrimmaging (7:30pm – 8pm).
Mouth guards, Cleats, Shin Guards, Field Hockey Goggles are MANDATORY!
