The Passaic River County Park in the Township of Long Hill is included in the Morris County Park Commission’s (MCPC) 2023/2024 White-Tailed Deer Management Program. This program and its implementation are consistent with the regulations of the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife (NJDFW). For details about this program, including maps, of all the hunting areas, will be posted on the MCPC’s website: morrisparks.net.
Also note that this is not a recreational hunt. This is a controlled management program that is being conducted to help reduce and maintain white-tailed deer populations at levels that will allow for the re-establishment of native plant communities within the park system that have been severely damaged by deer over browsing.
