12/5/24:  Exciting News at Kantor Park
Construction has begun on our new playground.  The new playground will be installed where the old playground was (near the outdoor bathroom building in the back of the park).  Currently, there are cones around the area, and everyone should avoid that area for safety reasons.  Any questions or concerns, please contact the Recreation Dept.  908.647.8000 x219, x267.
Thank you for your patience while we work to bring to life our new
"Woodland Gnome Playground".
Please check back here for updates!

Coming to see us in the Recreation Office?
Please note--during the summer, we are even busier than usual.  If you are specifically coming to see us and want to make sure one of us is in the office, please call and let us know what time you are coming.  We'll make sure someone is here if possible or advise when we can meet with you. You can always call us on the Recreation Cell Phone 908.343.7437 if you're trying to reach us while we are at camp or in the parks.

Pickleball is now at Meyersville Ballfield Park.
There is a reservation system on Community Pass for Long Hill Residents to reserve court times.
For more information, please Click on the Tennis/Pickleball Tab to the left.

Check out the new "Exofit" circuit training gym equipment at Kantor Park just installed May 2023.  This equipment uses your own weight as resistance and is designed for athletes 13 years and older.

Lights are available at Kantor Park on the tennis courts and the basketball court.  Currently, there is a post with a strobe light and push button "ON" switch by the entrance to the tennis courts and the basketball court.  Daily, from sundown to 10pm, if you push the "On" push button, you will have one hour of lights on either of the courts.  Five minutes before the lights will shut off, the amber strobe light on top of the pole where the push button is will start flashing.  To extend time, please push the button again.  The lights will automatically shut off at the end of one hour.  AND, the lights will NOT be operational beyond 10pm, so please watch your time.  The park is typically open sunrise to sundown, but with the lights on, those areas are extended to 10pm.  At 10pm, the park is CLOSED to all activity.

The lights on the turf field are only available when scheduled with a permit.

At Meyersville Ballfield, you must have a permit, and the lights will be programmed during certain times.  With light, Meyersville Ballfield will remain open until 10pm daily.

Any concerns, please contact the Parks & Recreation Dept.

Do your New Year's Resolutions include exercising more?  Why not start a walking regimen at Kantor Park?  With the completion of the walkway around the grass field; if you do a "figure 8" around the park, you will have walked 1/2 mile.  Why don't you start a challenge for yourself?  Start off with a 1/2 mile, and then try to add laps as we travel through the winter!  Anyone with a success story--please be sure to share it with us!

"I'm on a Wait List for a program.  What does that mean?"
Some of our programs have a maximum # of participants that can be registered for any number of reasons such as physical space limitations, established ratios between our instructors and participants, equipment/material available, etc.
If you have added your name to a wait list (always at no charge), you will be contacted only if space becomes available.  If you are still interested in the program; your registration on the wait list will move over to the intended program, and you will be asked to go in and apply payment to secure your spot in the program. If you are no longer interested, we will just remove your name from the wait list and continue on down the list.

Want to get email reminders about upcoming events in Recreation?  Make sure to sign up for Recreation "e-News" on the front page of the township website--blue envelope icon on right.
